WordPress database error: deprecated: mysql_connect()

My wordpress started to show this error :

WordPress database error: deprecated: mysql_connect()

Any ideas on the matter ?

It looks like you upgraded your PHP version. The problem is caused by the fact that mysql_connect() is no longer supported in PHP7. The options are two :

Downgrade to PHP5.6  or contact your website developer and ask to review your website and update its code in accordance with the specifics of the PHP version you use
