A few days ago, we published a new article which explains some Ads in WordPress Loop specifics. The post today is actually a continuation of the previous one. We would like to dig deeper into the mater and explore some more insights of wordpress ads strategy for 2018.

Generally speaking there are 3 main tips that would guarantee success with wordpress ads:

  • Make the ads to look like good content
  • Monitor what the visitors click

Make the ads to look like good content

WordPress ads strategy 2018

There are many webmasters out there who try to mask the ads, which this is wrong. The better solution is to make them look like good natural content. What you can do is insert them as elements into  your posts. As said in the previous post, the best places are after the first or second paragraph. Using inline rectangles usually give quite impressive results. For example, you can add image ads and this would make them like part of the post.

Try and rotate the ads. The practice shows that visitors tend to ignore too static ads. The said rotation could be based on some plugin’s feature or of course a custom code.

Make sure the ads on your WordPress are relevant with the content. Depending on the types of the ads you publish, you should be able to select specific category, so take time and pick up appropriate ones. For example, Google Adsense is quite flexible in selecting and displaying ads.

What good wordpress content means

You definitely need inspiration in order to create quality content. Even if it sounds easy task, it is actually quite hard to come up with some great ideas. So, the question here is what to do. Well, take time and look around. Reddig or the other social networks are great sources of expirations for blog post topics. There you can find insights on what the customers look for,  what they need and what concerns them. This would help you form the basic idea of the future article which is the most important part.

Once the idea is formed, you can look for more information on the matter and check if it matches your opinion. Important note here – make sure you are writing for topics you are familiar with. There is no such thing like all in one blog. Each website or blog should be oriented to its microniche. I do not see any point in writing and publishing post about adopting cats on your tech blog just because someone is looking for advices.

Think of providing valuable content. Posting short articles usually results in higher bounce rate, which means that you need to be more focused on detailed posts with examples, additional explanations, suggestions, advices and so on. SEO gurus over the Net suggest long articles with at least 700 – 800 words in the body. To me this sounds right. I agree that actually there is no a way to cover all possible aspects of a given topic with 300 – 400 words.

Pay attention to the social engagement

Nowadays the so called social signals are important part of SEO strategy. It is interesting that the same applies for WordPress ads strategy as well. Social groups on Facebook or Youtube seem good options to start building your own community.
